Olivia Hua, 15, Piano

Olivia is a tenth-grader at the Spence School in New York City. She began learning piano at the age of five and is currently studying with Qi Zhang. Olivia has received multiple top prizes in numerous competitions; her recent accomplishments include being the MTNA Junior Piano Competition New York State Winner(2024), Top Winner and Grand Prize winner of the 6th Apex International Music Competition(2025), Silver Prize and First Place winner of the VIVO International Piano Competition(2025), Grace Gimbel Scholarship Competition winner (2025). Olivia has performed at the Juilliard School's Paul Recital Hall, Carnegie Zankel Hall, Carnegie Weill Hall, and Merkin Hall at the Kaufman Music Center on multiple occasions. Additionally, Olivia has taken lessons and masterclasses with esteemed pianists, including Yoheved Kaplinsky, Shai Wosner, Ernest Barretta, and  Hung-kuan Chen. Besides piano, Olivia enjoys singing and is a part of her school’s select choir.
